Information on this page is intended for current students but may also be useful for prospective students too.

General Student Information

Travel

There are two train services to Bowral.

Country Link – Ph: 132232
City Rail (via the airport) – Ph: 131500

Country Link has a direct service from Central Railway Station Sydney.
City Rail also leaves from central and often requires a change at Campbelltown. City Rail is the best choice for people coming from the domestic or international airport.

By car from Sydney take the M5 exit at Mittagong and follow signs to Bowral. A map is available on the contact page you find the Metavision Institute.

Public transport is limited in Bowral and surrounding villages though there is a bus service and train line connecting Mittagong, Bowral and Moss Vale. We find students tend to organise and help each other out with lifts to and from Metavision amongst themselves.

Parking

All day parking is available where Intensives are held.

Accommodation

There are different levels of accommodation available in Bowral from pampering privilege to B&B’s, hotels, motels and budget.  We will have accommodation contacts on our website soon. In the meantime Southern Highlands Tourist Information Centre are a wealth of information and can be contacted on 1300 657 559 or www.southern-highlands.com.au

Harmony Village is a Steiner community and is very popular with our students as it offers affordable dormitory style but comfortable accommodation at $40 to $45 per night. It is in a lovely setting and is a 10 minute drive north from Metavision. For further information and bookings you can contact Francis (02) 4872 3999 or 0410 657 420 and let him know you are a Metavision student.

As students become familiar they sometimes share a house for the week which can work very well so let us know if this interests you.

Weather

Weather in the Southern Highlands can be highly variable so layering is the best option. It can be very hot or quite cool in summer and always cold in winter. We suggest you bring something warm at all times. Shoes are not worn in the classroom so warm socks or slippers and maybe a wrap are a good idea.

Activities

We have a swimming pool in both Mittagong and Bowral which are open for the Summer months. Contact numbers are in the Student Handbook. There are a number of Yoga classes in the area, if interested please enquire at the office or check the notice board in the Institute.

Community

We are currently setting up a community forum for Metavision Insitute students, alumni and staff. We would like to offer this as a way to allow our already vibrant community, keep each other updated and to stay in touch throughout their studies and after graduating.

We will announce the community forum when it is up and all students and alumni will be invited to join.
