SLaM conference 11-14 February 2010

The Spirituality, Leadership and Management (SLaM) Conference in February 2010 will be an opportunity to explore approaches to leadership that are responsive to the emerging world. The Metavision Institute has planned course dates so that they do not clash with this exciting event as it might be of great interest to students and teachers at the Metavision Institute. Dr Claire Jankelson, one of the teachers at the Metavision Institute, is deeply involved with the organisation of the conference in Western Sydney. "Leadership for the Emerging World" is SLaM's seventh conference.

Christina Nielsen's paper :"Spiritual Psychology for Leadership, equipping people to work for change." Has been accepted for presentation t the conference.

Generous Donation for Library Fund and Research

Recently a student registering for a course chose to pay the original price rather than make use of the half-price discount for her course that is being offered by the Metavision Institute. She donated 50% of her full price to the Metavision Institute's Library Fund. This generous offer was gratefully received by the Institute.

A similiar very generous offer to fund some vital research at the Institute has helped boost our research activity. This is a great help in supporting the work at the institute.

If you or anyone you know would like to support our work please

Contact the Metavision Institute if you wish to make such a donation.

Students at the first Metavision Holistic Coaching Course, 2009

holCoach1stGroup.JPGThe first Holistic Coaching Course at the Metavision Institute resulted in seven enthusiastic students receiving their Certificates.

After completing the course they chose to pair up and co-coach one another for eight sessions as practice towards introducing coaching into their current practices.

At the end they met up at Rosemary Shapiro-Liu's  (facilitator) home in Sydney to share their experiences and offer some guidance to one another about the way forward. They plan to stay in touch and encourage one another into this new world.

holCoach1stGroup2.JPGThe students found that the Holistic Coaching techniques have been useful to add to their toolkit. Some have included Holistic Coaching into their current practices. This is in line with the Metavision Institute's understanding of offering clients what they need, rather than sticking rigidly to one kind of intervention.

The next Holistic Coaching Course will take place in 2010, starting mid-year (date to be announced). This is suitable for people with some experience of working with people, and potential students are encouraged to apply early.

Metavision Institute keeps its commitment to low-cost Short Courses and Workshops

As the world discusses how to move forward from recent excesses to times of ethical and constructive living, the Metavision Institute wants to contribute to a strong, peaceful and aware community. In 2009 the Institute introduced Short Courses and Workshops at half price as a contribution in these tough financial times.

In 2010, the Metavision Institute is keeping the prices of the Short Course and Workshops as low as possible to continue to make them accessible. See fees and registration.

Application process for Accreditation for the Graduate Diploma of Holistic Counseling and Psychotherapy continues

The application to the Higher Education Board of the NSW Department of Education and Training to have our current Diploma of Holistic Counselling and Advanced Diploma of Holistic Psychotherapy converted to a Graduate Diploma of Holistic Counseling and Psychotherapy is currently under way.

While the application process is in motion, the 2010 Holistic Counseling and Psychotherapy course will be run in the same format as in previous years.

When the Institute is fully registered as a Higer Education Provider, the course will fulfill  the requirements for Higher Education as a Graduate Diploma. When the new course starts, the qualification will run over two years rather than three years and will include exciting e-learning methods. The format will be attendance at the Metavision Institute campus in Bowral for two Intensives plus one weekend per year, and thus remains suitable for people who live at a distance. The e-learning component will ensure more personal contact and support throughout the training.
